Plane crash near Dubai International Airport kills 4

<p>DUBAI, UAE - Honeywell International has confirmed one of its personnel was on board the small plane which crashed five kilometres south of the Dubai International Airport&nbsp;on Thursday.</p><p>The crash, which halted the operations of one of the world&#39;s busiest airports for a time, resulted in all four on board being killed.</p><p>The plane, a 4-seat Diamond DA42 aircraft registered in the United Kingdom was contracted to Honeywell, whose aviation division was undertaking oversight of the calibration of navigation systems at the Dubai&nbsp;aiport. Thursday&#39;s crash interrupted Dubai International&#39;s activities for about 40 minutes as the airport&#39;s emergency services were diverted to the crash&nbsp;scene.</p><p>The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has opened an investigation into the crash.</p><p>Three British and 1 South African nationals were on the twin-engine propeller aircraft when it came down about five kilometres south of the airport, the GCAA said.</p><p>(File photo).</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
