Plane crash near Dubai International Airport kills 4
<p>DUBAI, UAE - Honeywell International has confirmed one of its personnel was on board the small plane which crashed five kilometres south of the Dubai International Airport on Thursday.</p><p>The crash, which halted the operations of one of the world's busiest airports for a time, resulted in all four on board being killed.</p><p>The plane, a 4-seat Diamond DA42 aircraft registered in the United Kingdom was contracted to Honeywell, whose aviation division was undertaking oversight of the calibration of navigation systems at the Dubai aiport. Thursday's crash interrupted Dubai International's activities for about 40 minutes as the airport's emergency services were diverted to the crash scene.</p><p>The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has opened an investigation into the crash.</p><p>Three British and 1 South African nationals were on the twin-engine propeller aircraft when it came down about five kilometres south of the airport, the GCAA said.</p><p>(File photo).</p><p> </p>
