New Delhi [India], Mar 22 (ANI): Lyricist and screenwriter JavedAkhtar denied having written songs for the VivekOberoi-starrer 'PM NarendraModi', based on the life of Prime Minister NarendraModi.

This came after a poster of the film featured Javed's name as a lyricist.

"Am shocked to find my name on the poster of this film. Have not written any songs for it," he tweeted along with a picture of the poster.

Apart from Javed, the poster has the names of Prasoon Joshi, Sameer, Abhendra Kumar Upadhyay, Sardaraa, Parry G and Lavraj, among many others.

Vivek Oberoi will portray the role of Narendra Modi in the biographical drama.

The trailer of the much-awaited film was unveiled on Wednesday after a trailer launch event the same afternoon. The trailer went viral on social media soon after it dropped for reasons both good and bad.

While some Twitter users hailed the trailer and Vivek's portrayal of Modi, others were of the opinion that the actor was miles away from the Prime Minister.

The film was previously scheduled to release on April 12, a day after the completion of the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, but has now been preponed to April 5. The 2019 general elections will be held from April 11 to May 19. The first phase will cover 91 constituencies across 20 states, including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, and Chhattisgarh.

'PM Narendra Modi' was launched on January 7 in Mumbai by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The film went on floors on January 28 in Modi's home state Gujarat. It is also being shot at several other locations across Delhi and Uttarakhand.

The film will traverse the journey of Modi from his humble beginnings to his years as a chief minister and finally his landmark election as the Prime Minister.

Vivek, who had been missing from the acting scene lately, has done films like 'Krrish 3' (2013), 'Omkara' (2006), 'Company' (2002) and 'Saathiya' (2002).

Apart from Vivek, the film also stars Boman Irani, Darshan Kumaar, Zarina Wahab, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Narayanan, Barkha Bisht Sengupta, Akshat R Saluja, Anjan Shrivastav, Rajendra Gupta and Yatin Karyekar in pivotal roles.

The film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.

The biopic will be helmed by Omung Kumar, director of some critically acclaimed films including 'Mary Kom' and 'Sarbjit'. The biographical drama is being produced by Sandip Singh. (ANI)
