DUBLIN, Ireland - In a bid to encourage female entrepreneurs, Enterprise Ireland has announced plans to hold a roadshow.

The travelling roadshow will kick off in Waterford on March 26 before making its way around the country.

The schedule includes visits to Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Killarney and Roscommon.

The event, titled Lead and Succeed Fuelling Ambition Roadshow, is being hosted by Enterprise Ireland and Network Ireland.

In a statement, Sarita Johnston, female entrepreneurship manager at Enterprise Ireland said that they want to entice more women into top business roles.

Johnston added, "Supporting female entrepreneurs in achieving their global ambition is a key objective for Enterprise Ireland and the Fuelling Ambition Roadshow is an important initiative in reaching out to women regionally to tell them about the supports available and to encourage them to ‘lead and succeed’ in business.”

She added, “Enterprise Ireland has been actively working to champion female entrepreneurs since 2012 when only 7 percent of Enterprise Ireland client companies were female-led companies. In 2017, I'm delighted to say that 34 percent of start-ups supported by Enterprise Ireland were female-led companies. So this is around supporting and generating more females to look at leadership positions."
