CALIFORNIA, U.S. - A military helicopter blew over a tent during an annual training exercise in California, leaving a number of soldiers injured at the U.S. Army base in the state.

The Fort Hunter Liggett army base said in posts on Twitter and Facebook that a US Army UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter landing rotor wash caused a tent to collapse at about 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at the base situated in Monterey County, which is about 250 miles (400 km) northwest of Los Angeles.

According to the post, 22 people were injured, including a number of soldiers.

However, the majority of the injuries were minor and most of them were treated at the scene.

The army base confirmed that four of those injured were hospitalized.

The incident is said to have occurred during an annual U.S. Army Reserve exercise for Army Reserve and Army National Guard soldiers.

The tent which collapsed was located in the remote part of the sprawling base, which is the largest U.S. Army Reserve Command post.
