19 Marian images to visit Cagayan

The19 images of the Blessed Virgin Mary from different churches nationwidewill be in Cagayan onJune 26-29, 2018 as part of the "Marian Voyage of Peace and Love".

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, June 16 (PIA) - - Some 19 images of the Blessed Virgin Mary from different churches nationwide will visit the province on June 26-29, 2018 as part of the "Marian Voyage of Peace and Love".

Maria Rosario M. Villaflor, chief of staff of the Provincial Government here, said the visit of the images is also part of the celebration of the 435th Aggao nac Cagayan aimed at promoting the province as center of faith tourism and the pilgrimage capital of northern Luzon.

Villaflor said the 19 images will be grouped into two clusters, the north and south. The 11 images for the south cluster will be brought to the Cagayan Coliseum in this city while the eight images will be brought to the Provincial Sub-Capitol in Bangag, Lallo.

"The images will be enthroned in the various communities and local government units in the province for public veneration and liturgical activities," she said.

A welcome mass will be simultaneouly held at 3:00 PM in both clusters on June 26, after which, all images will be brought to their respective host repository towns.

On June 28, all images will be transferred to St. Peter's Cathedral for a mass celebration at 4:00 PM followed by a grand procession at 6:00 PM and youth vigil at 9:00 PM.

Another mass will be conducted at the cathedral on June 29 at 6:30 AM before the images will be transferred to the Basilica Minore in Piat.

The provincial government recently released the 19 featured images as well as their respective host repositories to include the Our Lady of Piat (Cagayan provincial government); Our Lady of La Naval (Penablanca town); Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (Tuao and Rizal towns); Our Lady of Immaculate Concepcion (Enrile town); Our Lady of Fatima (Baggao town); Our Lady of La Salette (Iguig town); Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (Sto Nino town); Our Lady of Miraculous Medal (Amulung town); Our Lady of Guadalupe (Solana town), Our Lady of Mediatrix (Alcala town); Our Lady of Penfrancia (Tuguegarao City); Our Lady of Manaoag (Aparri and Camalaniugan towns); Nuestra Senora del Mar de Cautiva (Lal-lo and Gattaran towns); Our Lady of Charity (Sta Teresita and Buguey towns); Nuestra Senora de Caridad (Sta Ana and Gonzaga towns); Our Lady of Badoc (Allacapan and Lasam towns); Our Lady of Lourdes (Abulug and Ballesteros towns); Our Lady of Guibang (Sta Praxedes and Claveria towns); and Our Lady of Namacpacan (Sanchez Mira and Pamplona towns).

The 2018 Marian Voyage of peace and love is organized by the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao, the Cagayan North Convention and Visitors Bureau and the provincial government here.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PRDDMO) has formed incident management teams to be deployed inthe province's northern and southern areas to control, secure and protect all Cagaynos and other pilgrims. (ALM/OTB/PIA-2 Cagayan)
