Ryanair flight fails to land at Dublin Airport

DUBLIN, Ireland - A number of Ryanair flights bound for Dublin were forced to divert to a close by airport, due to the hurricane-force winds battering the capital. 

A Ryanair flight was forced to divert to an airport over 500km away after strong winds prevented it landing at the Dublin Airport.

The Rome-Dublin flight FR9431 was scheduled to land at the capital's airport had to divert to Newcastle Airport after making an attempts to land in Dublin during the hurricane.

Passengers later praised the crew for their actions in getting the plane to land.

However, this wasn’t the only flight that the only Ryanair service was forced to divert from Dublin Airport.

Further, Flight FR293 from London's Stansted Airport, which was due to land on Monday night, was forced to return all the way to the English capital after making four attempts to land in Dublin.

After circling the skies for 45 minutes, it was forced to return to the U.K.
