Freeport-McMoRan's Indonesia mining dilemma
Freeport-McMorRan Inc. (NYSE: FCX) is facing more questions about its big Grasberg mine in Indonesia.
That's one of the largest gold and copper mines in the world.
The Indonesia government wants a controlling stake in the Papua region within two years, according to Bloomberg.
Phoenix-based Freeport has been mining at the remote and massive Grasberg site since the 1970s and owns 90 percent of project, according to Mining.com.
