Gardai seize loaded gun from man in Dublin

DUBLIN, Ireland - Gardai have launched a probe and have charged a man after he was found with a loaded gun in Dublin.

Gardai said that they had found the Smith & Wesson two-inch Magnum Revolver during a planned search operation on Mountjoy Street, Dublin 7.

The 44-year-old man, who was found with the handgun is due to appear before the Dublin District Court, reports noted. 

The man had been detained at the Store Street Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 as amended.

Gardai have been conducting many search operations as part of their ongoing operation to target serious criminal activity in Dublin.

Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau along with the Special Crime Task Force carried out the entire operation.
