San Francisco Bay's biggest digital health company grows here, picks up Publix business

A Silicon Valley company with products to help people take medicine as prescribed expects a planned acquisition will have a big upside for its Tampa Bay operations.

Omnicell Inc. (OMCL) says it will buy Ateb Inc. and its Canadian affiliate, Ateb Canada Ltd., for $41 million in cash in a deal scheduled to close before the end of the year.

Ateb's programs are used by about 15,000 pharmacies, including more than 900 Publix Super Markets pharmacies that signed on with Ateb in 2014, according to Pharmacy...
