Even with all the improvement in Sacramento home prices in the last few years, an American City Business Journals analysis of new federal data shows a marked difference from a decade ago.
Comparing the third quarter of 2016 to the same quarter in 2006, prices here have dropped 15.9 percent. That ranked the region 104 out of 124 metropolitan areas in the U.S. for the growth in local real estate values since 2006.
