The president said in an interview with Syrian al-Watan newspaper to be published on Thursday that the developments of the combatant acts in the last year have given the military latest results that we see nowadays, affirming that liberating the eastern area of Aleppo doesn't come in the context of a political frame, but it comes within the context of the military normal acts.

"Liberating Aleppo from terrorists means that real cards will not remain in the hands of terrorists and the countries which support them, "President al-Assad said, adding "from a military point of view, who wins in Damascus or Aleppo, will achieve a great military and political achievement as they are two political and economic important cities.

The President affirmed that the Americans are determined to ask for a truce because their tools of terrorists have become in a critical situation, so "you hear the crying and lamenting," saying that begging for a truce is the only political discourse now in addition to the talks about humanitarian issues.

On relations with Russia, President al-Assad said "we want to boost these relations and we have called for Russian investments in Syria before and after the crisis, and they, in return, haven't tried to exploit this issue,"adding that the principled side is essential in Russia's policies, and at the same time, the war against terrorism is not only a war for Syria, but it is a war for Russia and the world.

The President added "We want relations with all world countries, including the west, although we know in advance its hypocrisy and when our relations were good in 2008 until 2011 the hypocrisy was there and the west didn't change and it has always been biased and hypocritical, but we talk about interests."

President al-Assad hoped "mindful people in Turkey would be able to push Erdogan towards retreating from his stupidities regarding the Syrian issue, at that time, we avoid clash and we should work for this goal."
