Abbott wants out of $5.8 billion Alere deal
Abbott Laboratories Inc. is washing its hands of an agreement to acquire health care diagnostics company Alere Inc.
The pharmaceutical and medical device giant announced Wednesday that it has filed a complaint with the Delaware Court of Chancery seeking termination of the deal, which has been plagued by a series of setbacks throughout the year.
