PanARMENIAN.Net - Shirak International Airport in the northern Armenian city of Gyumri will cut the prices for air navigation services by 50% to attract more airlines and boost the development of the facility, the General Department of Civil Aviation said on Wednesday, December 7.

According to the Department, the decision follows a number of other measures implemented as part of a development program which seeks to promote various carriers' interest towards Shirak Airport through a comprehensive discount system.

Also, the GDCA said they want to make best use of the facility's entire potential, at the same time contributing to the growth of economic activity in the north of Armenia.

The reduced tariffs will apply to all the air companies that will fly to and from the airport in Gyumri.

Shirak International Airport is an international airport serving Gyumri and the province of Shirak, Armenia. It is located about 5 km from the center of Gyumri. It is the second largest airport in the country after Yerevan's Zvartnots International Airport.
