Portland hotel developer embracing Wisconsin culture
Bashar Wali, who is moving into the Wisconsin market with two locations under his Provenance Hotels business, said he hates themed establishments.
The Portland, Ore., operator is working on new hotels on State Street in Madison, and in the Humphrey Scottish Rite Masonic Center in downtown Milwaukee. Wali's firm partnered with Madison developer Ascendant Holdings LLC on those projects.
