Deal done, company with roots in St. Petersburg expands in Midwest
Uniti Fiber, the company formed in the wake of the acquisition of Tower Cloud Inc., has a multimillion-dollar contract designed to boost internet capacity in the Midwest.
Uniti will partner with a wireless carrier to expand the fiber optic cable infrastructure in the Quad City/Davenport, Iowa area and in Peoria and Rockford, Illinois. That will give those communities an economic development advantage, said Greg Ortyle, senior vice president of sales for Uniti.
