Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva says he is "happy" at the French champions and wants to stay with the club, but admits he "needs to talk" with president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Silva, 32, was PSG's best player in their 0-0 draw at home to Marseille on Sunday, with his performance suggesting he is getting back to last season's dominant form.

The Brazil international has been linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes following representative Paulo Tonietto's recent comments that his client wants his future resolved by December, while teammate Marquinhos has urged the Ligue 1 club to do all they can to retain his compatriot's services.

Silva, however, has revealed that talks with PSG, which started at the end of last campaign, have since stopped without explanation.

"It is not for me to decide, we need to talk," Silva told reporters. "We started talking last year, at the end of the season, and after it stopped. I do not know why. I am happy here, I want to stay and extend my contract. We need to talk with the president to know what we will do in the future."
