Steven Gerrard 'always so welcome' at Liverpool after Instagram alert - Jurgen Klopp
LIVERPOOL, England -- Jurgen Klopp said former captain Steven Gerrard is "always so welcome" at Liverpool after the midfielder's online post led to rumours he was leaving the LA Galaxy.
Gerrard posted a photo on his Instagram page on Saturday thanking the city of Los Angeles and Galaxy supporters, which led multiple outlets to incorrectly report that his time in MLS would be coming to an end.
The 36-year-old, who left Liverpool in the summer of 2015, returned to Merseyside last year to train with the Reds during the MLS offseason, and he visited again during the international break last month.
Speaking at a news conference following his side's 2-1 victory over West Brom, Klopp was adamant that there would always be a place for Gerrard at Liverpool.
"Steven Gerrard is always so welcome at Liverpool FC," Klopp said. You cannot imagine how welcome -- absolutely no problem.
