PNC remains No. 1 in market share for Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh region lost two banks and shed 12 branches but saw combined deposits rise 3.5 percent to $120 billion compared to 2015, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.'s deposit market share report, released on Friday. The data is for the FDIC's 2016 fiscal year, which ended on June 30.
PNC Financial Services Group Inc. retained its No. 1 spot, with deposits in the 8-county region of $58 billion, a $2 billion increase as its market share edged up slightly to 48.3 percent.
