The Skoda Kodiaq SUV which is set to go on sale in the international markets in early 2017 will make its premiere at the Paris Motor Show later today. Ahead of that, Skoda revealed the car to a select few in Berlin earlier this month. Now, ahead of the global debut, Skoda is giving the Kodiaq a new emotional connect via a new trailer.

The Skoda Kodiaqwhich is named after Kodiak, the Alaskan bear (there is also a city in Alaska going by the same name), is based on the MQB platform that also underpins the new Superb. Watch the trailer below.

New Skoda Kodiaq measures 4.70 m in length, boasts of the largest boot in its class (up to2,065 litre in 5-seat variant). The SUV is also offered with optional 3rd row of seats. The company has revealed that the engine lineup will have three TSI turbo petrol and two TDI turbo diesel engines. Most powerful motor will be a 180 PS 2.0-litre TSI unit.

The SUV will offer 6-speed manual, DSG, front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options. Features like Drive Mode Select and Dynamic Chassis Control will also be on board.

The Kodiaq also features some clever touches like a self-deploying plastic door edge protector that prevents scratches on the doors in tight parking spaces and garages, electric child safety lock, and sleep comfort package with special head restraints. Other highlights include a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apply CarPlay and several up-to-date connectivity services.

The Skoda Kodiaq is expected to enter India via CKD route sometime in 2017. Competition would come from the likes of Ford Endeavour, Hyundai Santa Fe, Toyota Fortuner, etc.
