Syria Mod Fall-Winter 2017 exhibition for fashion and leather clothing kicks off

Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Adib Mayaleh, stressed that the industrialists in Syria have proved their steadfastness and capability to produce high-quality items and enhance the competitive edge of their products in international markets, noting that Syria, despite the crisis, is still exporting its products to 80 states around the world.

In turn, Assistant Minister of Industry Jamal al-Omar said that the exhibition indicates the recovery of the Syrian industry and the continuity of Syrian industrialists to support national economy despite all challenges.

He underlined the ministry's unremitting efforts to support the national industry, adding that a new plan to activate public and private industry sectors has been approved and it stipulates for providing all support and facilitations required to enable the industry sector to have a crucial role in the development process.

For his part, Head of the Syrian Exporters Union Mohammad al-Sawah said that many markets are open in front of the Syrian products, especially the Iranian market after the inauguration of a center for Syrian exports in Tehran as a platform to market Syrian goods in the country.

Chairman of Damascus Chamber of Industry Samer al-Debs highlighted the importance of this exhibition in enhancing national industry, finding local agents for industrialists and producers and covering the needs of the local market.

The exhibition is organized by the Syrian Exporters' Federation, Damascus Chamber of Industry, Damascus Countryside Chamber of Industry, in cooperation with the Industry and Economy and Foreign Trade Ministries.
