Big interest in project's affordable housing units near Ala Moana Center
An affordable housing condominium project scheduled to start construction soon near Ala Moana Center received more than 900 applications for the 292 affordable spaces.
The 45-story project, called Kapiolani Residence, will have 484 residential units total with 292 reserved for qualified Hawaii residents.
The building is a public-private collaboration between developer SAMKOO Pacific LLC and the State of Hawaii's Hawaii Housing Finance and Development Corporation.
