Company backed by Folsom's Velocity Venture Capital acquired by Intel for $270 million
A company that launched with former engineers from Intel Corp. in Folsom a decade ago was bought very quietly by Intel earlier this month for $270 million, said one of its initial investors.
Soft Machines Inc., which started up in 2006, developed chip-design technology and software that allows multiple central processing units (CPUs) on computer chips to create virtual processors that could dramatically increase computing speeds and cut power use.
