All Nippon Airways says it will replace flawed engine turbine blades inside its entire fleet of 50 Boeing Dreamliners over the next few years after discovering that several blades broke and damaged the engines, causing them to fail in flight.
Rolls-Royce, which makes the engines installed on the Japanese airline's 50 787s, confirmed ANA's plans Wednesday.
The British engine maker said work on the 100 Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, plus spares, will be done on the airline's schedule.
