Drilling Permit Roundup: Oil companies rally in Karnes County
New drilling permits took a break in Karnes County last week, but they are back with a vengeance.
Over the past seven days, four oil companies have filed applications with the Railroad Commission of Texas to drill oil and gas wells there.
Located an hour south of San Antonio, Karnes County is the most oil-rich county in the Lone Star State, and with oil prices somewhat stable in the mid-$40 range, companies big and small are all trying to get a piece of the pie.
