McDonald's names Omnicom Group as new advertising partner

Omnicom Group wins, and the Publicis Groupe loses in the watershed McDonald's (NYSE: MCD) agency review that began last spring and ended today.

The McDonald's advertising business, worth an estimated $1 billion in billings, could be a goldmine for Omnicom, though McDonald's is said to have negotiated a tough contract that will, to some degree, tie the agency payout to the performance of the advertising done by the new entity.
