Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta chief Dennis Lockhart is ready to consider raising inerest rates, The Wall Street Journal reported Aug. 27.
In an interview during the Fed's meeting at Jackson Hole, Wyo., Lockhart said he thinks the U.S. economy is expanding at a modest pace. "I think the economy is chugging along," he told the WSJ. Asked if he is ready to raise interest rates, Lockhart said, "I'm ready to talk about it."
