Sonoran Biosciences, an early stage pharmaceutical company spun out of Arizona State University, received a $1.48 million research grant for its antibiotic gel to treat prosthetic joint infections.

The Scottsdale company won a Small Business Innovation Research, or SBIR, Phase II grant from the National Institutes of Arthritis and Musculoskeltal and Skin Diseases of the National Institutes of Health.
