The Albany, New York, region created about 5,700 low-wage hospitality jobs at the same time it lost roughly that many higher paying government positions.
The area added 5,729 new jobs in leisure and hospitality between 2010 and 2015, according to a report from state comptroller Tom DiNapoli. That contributed to the highest job growth of any region in upstate New York over that period.
