Dreamliner drama hamstrings Japanese airline

All Nippon Airways said it cancelled nine Dreamliner flights in Japan today, warning more flights might get axed next month because of a problem with the Boeing (NYSE: BA) jet's Rolls Royce engines.

ANA cited safety concerns for cancelling the flights "on a limited number of aircraft" and ordered additional inspections and maintenance on the Dreamliners involved.

An ANA jet suffered an engine failure, which forced the aircraft flying between Tokyo Haneda airport to Fukuokato to turn back.
